About 2 Mill Street

“This is a fantastic house”  Airbnb review August 2020

2 Mill Street is a holiday cottage in Crickhowell in the Black Mountains in the Brecon Beacons National Park. The cottage has been renovated to a high standard and has been graded 4 star self catering accommodation by Visit Wales. We have a 2017 Certificate of Excellence from TripAdvisor and we received the Cottages.com Customers’ Choice Award in 2018. You can see for yourself on our video which can be viewed here or look at our photo gallery and full description here. There are recent visitor reviews at the bottom of this page.

Since we first welcomed visitors to 2 Mill Street early in 2014, we have met some lovely people and have been delighted by their response to what we have created. They mostly come for the walking but the town centre with its cosy pubs and independent shops is only a two minute walk away. They have particularly commented on the cleanliness, the views (the background shot on this page is from the top bedroom), on our comfy beds and ensuite bathrooms, how well-equipped the cottage is and the fact that the dog (and even the guinea pig) can come too!

Our visitors have certainly got around during their stays. Many people have enjoyed climbing Pen y Fan (the highest mountain in southern Britain).

Our guests have found it very easy to get to Cardiff for the shopping, for sporting events or a visit to Cardiff Bay to take in attractions like the Wales Millennium Centre  or Techniquest.

The British Speedway Grand Prix is held every year at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, just one of many top sporting events held in the Welsh capital city.

Sometimes they fancy a tipple of real Welsh whisky at Penderyn (it’s not far from Waterfall Country) or just gazing at the night sky now that the Brecon Beacons National Park is a Dark Sky Reserve.

Perhaps the most popular attraction though is a trip to Waterfall Country near Pontneddfechan in the National Park. There are several spectacular falls to enjoy in all seasons – for more information see the Brecon Beacons National Park website. The Brecon Mountain Railway is also great fun and our guests have really enjoyed Big Pit – a fascinating insight into working underground and it’s free too!
