2 Mill Street is a holiday cottage with two en suite bathrooms for your comfort and convenience.
The accommodation is spread over three floors and comprises two new en suite bedrooms, a combined kitchen/dining area/lounge and a utility room. Access is from the lawned garden at the front via some stone steps (ground floor) or via the side entrance (lower ground floor).
The top floor contains the larger of the two bedrooms with its king-sized bed, en-suite shower room and sunny southerly aspect. The hand-made white double wardrobe, chest of drawers and bedside cabinets are from Webbs our local furniture store. The cottage has full gas central heating controlled from a combi boiler in the airing cupboard in the main bedroom.
The ensuite bathroom has a power shower, heated towel rail, black-tiled floor, pedestal sink and WC. There are also northerly views to The Black Mountains (The Darren) from the upper landing which is a great place to sit and read.
The ground floor is given over to the attractive living area which has the sun for most of the day. It has a polished wood floor and contains the kitchen, dining area and lounge.
The kitchen was fitted in 2013 and has a built in oven, ceramic hob, integrated fridge, breakfast bar, plenty of cupboard space plus a kettle, toaster and microwave. The clever stow-away table hides four collapsible chairs; there is plenty of space for more formal dining if required or the table and chairs can be put away when not needed.
The lounge has two sofas which are great for lounging around reading a book or the papers or simply watching the TV which has freesat channels and a separate DVD player and a small range of popular DVDs. There is also an iPod dock and a Bluetooth speaker if you want to play your favourite music and unlimited wi-fi if you need to catch up on your emails or surf the internet. We’ve also provided an iPad with local attraction and business websites bookmarked for guests’ convenience. There are also board games like Monopoly and Scrabble to enjoy.
The lower ground floor is home to the second ensuite bedroom with its double bed, wardrobe and chest of drawers from our friends at Webbs again.
The second ensuite bathroom has an electric shower, heated towel rail, sink and pedestal and WC. Hand wash in the shower rooms is supplied by the Myddfai Trading Company a social enterprise in the Brecon Beacons National Park supporting rural regeneration.
The hallway on the lower ground floor is the place for muddy boots, coats and luggage. This leads to the utility room which has a washer/dryer, sink and draining board, more cupboard space and a fridge freezer under the stairs. There’s also an ironing board, steam iron, a clothes airer, a Hetty and a Dyson vacuum cleaner, and cleaning products should you need them.
One off-street parking space for visitors is available to the rear of the cottage. Additional parking can be found by prior arrangement. Bicycles can be stored in the owners’ garage at the end of the garden of 2 Mill Street (a key is provided for visitors). Well-behaved and flea-treated dogs are welcome. For safety and for the convenience of other guests, smoking is not permitted.
Change over day is normally a Friday. Christy towels, hairdryers and cotton bed linen are provided for guests. A welcome pack of local produce is also provided on arrival – including apple juice, brownies, Welsh crisps and Welsh chocolate - as well as Welsh cakes, tea, coffee, sugar and a pint of milk.
